Each year at VBS, we have a contest or "WAR" between the boys and girls to see who can bring in the most pennies for missions. We weigh the pennies each night, and let the students know who is ahead. Our pennies for missions this year will benefit the Sunrise Children's Services (formerly KY Baptist Children's Home). The Sunrise Children's Services provides care and hope for hurting children in Kentucky. Each night during registration, there will be pennies available to trade your dollars and coins for.

We will also have a collection of supplies that the children need. We will collect school supplies (ie. notebook paper, Non-spiral composition notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, etc.) and personal care products (ie. toothpaste/brushes, soap, shampoo, razors, combs, chapstick, etc.). The collection will be taken to the Spring Meadows Center in Mt. Washington, KY, a residential treatment center for adolescent boys.
